Summer is winding down, but there's still time to fit in another weekend trip or two before fall comes around! As true Texans, we've been a lot of places in this great state, but there's five places we love road tripping to the most:
We headed to Marfa in March as a spontaneous spring break trip, and it's now one of our favorite places. A small town in the middle-of-nowhere West Texas, this is the place to go for a true getaway with art as amazing as the sunrise and stars.
Where to Stay: El Cosmico
What to Bring: Road trip snacks, sunglasses, and a blanket to sit on while watching the sunrise or gazing at the stars.
Beaded by W Must Have: Grab your car tassel and take some beautiful pictures of the West Texas mountains while you drive.
About 45 minutes away from Austin, Gruene is the ultimate weekend getaway that's the epitome of small town Texas. Float the river, grill out, and have some fun!
Where to Stay: Airbnb has some gorgeous options that will get you right on the river.
What to Bring: Your swimsuit and a tube! And a bottle of wine. Duh.
Beaded by W Must Have: You'll definitely want our wine charms on hand so you don't get your drinks mixed up after a long day of floating the river.
For a beach vacation, Port A isn't actually too far—just 3 1/2 hours from Austin. Although Texas beaches get a bad rap, we love Port A for the quick road trip, clean beaches, and endless memory making potential.
Where to Stay: Cinnamon Shore
What to Bring: Swimsuits, towels, and a bucket for seashell collecting.
Beaded by W Must Have: The Newport Multi Necklace is the perfect piece to dress up any casual beach outfit.
Just off the top of our heads, we can think of three fun things to do here: Six Flags, Seaworld, and the Riverwalk. Take a trip with your friends and enjoy the vibrant history this city has to offer.
Where to Stay: Any hotel ON the Riverwalk!
What to Bring: Going out and casual-cute clothes will be necessities (unless you're heading to Six Flags—then you need Nike shorts for sure).
Beaded by W Must Have: Pom pom earrings, because why not stand out in the crowd?
Horseshoe Bay is perfect if you need a relaxing spa weekend, whether you're with your boyfriend or best friend, or just on your own. Located on Lake LBJ, there's plenty of things to do—or not do. With a view of Lake LBJ and the Texas Hill Country, we just don't know if it gets any better.
Where to Stay: Horseshoe Bay Resort
What to Bring: Card games and lounge clothes for lazy nights in.
Beaded by W Must Have: The Dallas Wrap Bracelet is just right for a relaxing, minimalist weekend.
